Jenny CRISP A Virtual Reality of Something oil on aluminium 87.5 x 96.7 cm There is a substance to that “Something” which allows it an attachment to this ancient place. Its destiny is as an upended urn that harbours its origins, with its north face a desiccated template that provides scrubby plants and goth-like animals an uncertain foothold that has meant home over a journey of millennia. There too the silent, voracious lichen and mosses, drawn into a game of survival, steadily determine to mould its surface, its mass, its future now measured in grains of sand, one on another, to form and reform. |
