Margaret SANDERS
Land and Sky 1, 2, 3
acrylic, wax on board
32 x 60 cm
Contained within the Stirling Range is some of the world’s richest and most diverse flora. Near the peaks, upland thickets provide refugium for critically endangered plants, in particular, the Giant Andersonia. The Montane-heath vegetation in which this plant occurs, is potentially threatened by the increasing frequency of fires.
I painted Land and Sky to capture the seemingly invisible actions of climate change upon this landscape.
